Aircuity Enhances Team and Structure to Prepare for Continued Growth

Team of strategic account managers created and key executives appointed to address large opportunity in airside efficiency

NEWTON, Mass., USA – January 29, 2015 – Aircuity, the smart airside efficiency company, is pleased to announce recent changes made to the sales team and other key appointments in order to properly address the growing airside efficiency market. The company has seen the increasing adoption of airside efficiency programs and has executed these changes to align themselves in order to meet customer demand and properly support its network of channel partners.

A team of strategic account managers (SAMs) was created to directly support accounts identified as having significant opportunities to reduce their airside energy use. Chuck McKinney has been appointed to lead the team as the new Vice President of Key Strategic Account Sales. The team currently consists of four SAMs and that number is expected to grow annually for several years as more customers adopt Aircuity’s airside solution as the next big way to attack their carbon footprint. Pete Hmelyar has been named Aircuity’s Vice President of Channel Sales. Mr. Hmelyar will support channel sales at accounts beyond the named key strategic accounts.

Aircuity has also named JoAnn Garbin its first Vice President of Product Management. Ms. Garbin and her team will serve as a bridge between Aircuity’stechnical and business teams, to create and deliver more value for our partners and customers. Previously, Ms. Garbin has acted as a trusted strategic advisor to some of the world’s largest corporations and is a successful technologist and business leader. She has led numerous applications from concept through delivery including the Energy & Emissions Management System (E2MS), which was acquired by Johnson Controls in 2008.

“I’m very excited about the structural changes we are making to better serve our customers and deliver increasing value in the marketplace” said Dan Diehl, Chief Executive Officer. “As more and more customers realize the extraordinary energy savings potential in airside efficiency, our staff and channel partners will be well positioned to help them realize those savings.”

The airside program-based approach is currently benefiting customers such as University of Alberta, University of California, Irvine (UCI), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the University of Pennsylvania as they dramatically reduce their energy use and meet their carbon reduction goals. “Our customers are discovering that airside efficiency can be deployed campus wide-just like lighting programs-with equal or better results” explained Chuck McKinney, Vice President of Strategic Accounts. “Taking the time to develop a process to qualify, design, and implement an airside efficiency project will lead to extraordinary savings and the early achievement of sustainability goals”.

Aircuity highlights the success that the University of California, Irvine has seen using a program-based approach to reduce energy in their labs across campus. WithAircuityas one of the core components of the university’s Smart Lab Program, they were able to reduce energy use by an average of 61% in lab buildings across campus. In December of 2011 UCI joined the DOE’s Better Buildings Challenge and pledged to reduce energy use 20% by 2020 within 7 million square feet building space. Not only did UC Irvine reduce energy use by 23%, but they achieved this reduction 6 years ahead of their plan. Pleased but not content with this initial success, the school immediately doubled the goal and is now targeting a total energy reduction of 40% by 2020. In May of 2014 the university was honored by the White House for their energy reduction efforts.
